A believer of form and substance, Sarah wears three hats on most days:–

  • corporate venture investor, investing in & nurturing innovative bio-technologies via a venture arm in one of Asia’s largest multinational conglomerates;
  • Co-Founder of Asia Women Circle that independently drives Lean In Malaysia, championing the #leanin movement in Asia – a platform to educate, enable and empower women to harness their full potential. In Jan 2016, Sarah was appointed Regional Leader by Sheryl Sandberg.
  • A media personality (professional moderator and presenter) particularly focused in the sphere of Women & Business;

Having grown up in the media industry as a national TV host from the young age of 9, and later being part of the select Young Achievers Group, she’s worked with industry leaders and politicians on society-building causes ever since. Being at the heart of business itself and inspired to make a “ding” in the universe, she takes conversations to the next level, taking action through her works.

A law graduate of King’s College London and fellow of the RSA of England, she’s worked with amongst others:

  • Sime Darby (World’s largest producer of sustainable palm oil): Corporate Ventures (VC)
  • LeanIn.Org: Regional Leader & Co-Founder, Lean In Asia & Malaysia
  • Baker & Mckenzie LLP (Chicago & London): M&A Corporate Securities
  • Norton Rose Fulbright London: Corporate Finance
  • Ernst & Young: Performance Advisory
  • MRINetwork: Youngest leading consultant within the global franchise network
  • King’s College London Business Club: Founding member, bagging multiple awards for shaping the university entrepreneurial ecosystem in the UK

Her core belief is the power of education & media, and this flows through consistently in all  her works – to advance thought leadership into action.

Projects & Work

Enriching society through thoughts and action –

Sarah was nominated as a fellow in November 2011 for her contribution in the UK student enterprise scene, engaging with the likes of Mark Prisk, Minister of Business on policy, demonstrating the potential to further positive social change.

The Asia Women Circle (AWC) which drives "Lean In Malaysia" is a women-led organisation is a movement which harnesses the power of leadership and community to embolden women to achieve their full potential. The platform challenges the norm and raises the status of women in the society.

We extend our cause to further educate, enable and empower to:

- Provide a unique platform to highlight and address real challenges and opportunities women are presented with in today’s world, charting life paths together.

- Create a forum to advance leadership of women in all spheres of society – particularly in the corporate & entrepreneurial sectors.

- Build a dynamic network of women leaders from around the country – a #leanincommunity influencing change for a more inclusive society.

This independent initiative part of Sheryl Sandberg's #leanin movement is also supported by YB Dato’ Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, in the Office of the Adviser on the Development of Women Entrepreneurs & Professionals, of the Prime Minister’s Department (KIW, JPM), and was launched by YB Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Youth and Sports.

Our programmes are developed to address two key issues in Asia:

2. High drop- out rates in the workforce, who represent half the economy, half the potential

3 key programmes for 2016 are:
1. Monthly talks "Lean In 101" - every 16th of the month
2. Lean In Career Programme - an 8-week programme advancing women in their careers through workshops, high-powered focused mentoring to feed into the talent pipeline
